On Friday 23rd May 2025, a team of 12 SEP colleagues will set off at sunrise to complete a 50km walk from Grantham to Leicester City Football Club, in memory of our much-missed friend and colleague, Alan, who sadly passed away in May 2024.
Alan was a dedicated Leicester City fan, and this route — from SEP to the King Power Stadium — is a heartfelt tribute to him. We expect the journey to take between 12 and 15 hours, and every step will be taken in Alan’s honour, raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.
The team has been training hard in preparation, building strength and resilience for what will be a tough but rewarding challenge. We’re proud to be walking not just in memory of Alan, but to help fund research that could save lives.
This event is part of a wider effort to mark Vink’s 50th anniversary. Throughout 2025, we’re aiming to raise £50,000 for charitable causes by hosting 50 fundraising events. While this walk is one of our flagship activities, it’s about far more than reaching a milestone — it’s about remembering Alan, and making a difference.
