Nylon PA6 FR offers a great combination of machinability and safety features. Free of halogen and phosphorus and measuring 40% on the Limiting Oxygen Index, this is a flame retardant and self-extinguishing (UL94-V0) plastic. One which provides high hardness and rigidity, good slide and wear behaviour and high dimensional stability. As well as this, Nylon PA6 FR is European Rail Vehicle Standard DIN EN 45545-2:2013 compliant.

Cable clamp for rail vehicles made from Sustamid 6 FR. The new flame-resistant material allows extruded nylon 6 to be used in areas with high demands on flammability.
The material boasts a very high LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) of 40% and is halogen free. With a UL94- V0 fire rating. In addition the low density (1.17g/cm³) provides significant weight and construction benefits in comparison to conventional material, like steel (7.85g/cm³).
